This was an awesome event- opened my eyes to just how much help/advice/money/projects are swirling around and the state and local level. Great to see and hear the players. I felt we were very special to attract such great talent at the state level- and the regular participants had so much to offer- amazing networking. Thank you, TRACY LUX and MARY ANN BOWIE for a great experience!

HI April Doner just let me know about you all~I can't make it tomorrow as I have appointments relating to this community experience called EVOLVING Tampa Bay event on April 6th. I would love it if you would go to the website and offer any insights, or ways you would like to come co-create with us! It is free event to the public.

Wish I had known earlier about this meeting and I might have been able to change appointments. Will contact Forrest Paradise to review the day. Sounds like an awesome and informative day. Anymore scheduled in the future? Tks, Randy

Joan, sorry this meeting doesn't sound like it will work for you. Perhaps you might consider just coming for the morning session to shorten your day. In this case the format has been suggested primarily by the State Dept. of Elder Affairs and has been coordinated locally by LICN. It is targeted towards professionals in the Housing and Health Care fields as well as senior consumers. Hopefully you can come for part of it and if not will look for you at another meet up. Regards Tracy

Thanks Tracy, great idea. Looking at schedule, maybe the afternoon, with workgroups might be even better. Joan

I 'lurk' on your meet-up site because Winter Park is not THAT far from Sarasota. This gathering reminds me to mention the 'Village to Village' movement that began with Beacon Hill Village in Boston. Winter Park has a NEW village we call Neighbors Network offering volunteer help and connections as well as a vetted vendor list to members. It's a membership organization, with partners such as our local ITN org. Independent Transportation Network is another membership org. providing safe, secure transportation with 24 hours notice to seniors at a cost significantly less than taxi service. Plus, the rider gets a congenial chatty driver! Contact Laura Capp ([masked]) for more info.

Oops! Neglected to say that we are catering to seniors who choose to stay in their own homes! It's part of the 'Aging in Place' movement. . .

07:45 am start means leaving the house no later than 7, up at 6:00, for a 7 hour event, then a drive home; too early for me, age 72, and a 9 hour day, door to door. So often things seem to be talking ABOUT seniors, not arranged to make it easy, even possible for we seniors to attend, speak for ourselves, say about designing a workshop about our needs.
