ONLINE - VIDEO: Businesses Engaging & Growing Together

Details

In conjunction with October NSW Small Business Month, Mental Health Month and Cyber Security Week, Local Area Marketing & Networking Group is staging a webinar meeting themed Digital First Aid.

Baulkham Hills (Norwest) group is hosting the event which will discuss preventative measures to protect your business and individual identity from cyber and personal exploitation.

Over four weeks we are staging a series of online events covering practical business knowledge and support as well as mental health first-aid and personal motivation in difficult times.

All events are free to attend (via Zoom) as part of our Group commitment to support small business owners during the pandemic.

This is a great opportunity to check out our group and experience how small businesses work together and support each other.

We have business introductions at the start of our sessions, so everyone gets to know you and your business. Normal programs may vary according to the event, but pre and post session, private individual meetings will be available in our Virtual meeting rooms.

OCTOBER PROGRAM

BUSINESS AND PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP BREAK-UPS AND YOUR DIGITAL IDENTITY.
In difficult times, relationships of all kinds are challenged. The pandemic has seen an escalation in domestic violence. Many business have closed. Partnerships dissolved. Anxiety is significant.

Our reliance on the Internet and digital data is at an all-time high. Everyone is vulnerable to having their identity compromised or stolen, privacy breached and access to support limited.

This INSIGHT will reveal the threats and what we can do to protect our identities and avoid additional anguish.

SECURING THE HOME OFFICE
If, like many people, you are working from home, or have computers and other hardware on your business premises, just having anti ‘everything” software is only part of the solution.

This session focuses on the not-so-obvious, but essential. Topics include managing offline information (paper); why physical security is important; internet router pitfalls; Don't let your business burn; family management; remote, secure storage; VPNs; Update, update, update.

OFFICIAL LAUNCH - CYBER SECURITY INSURANCE* FOR SMALL BUSINESSES
Covid-19 and the growth of working from home, has brought a significant rise in cyber attacks against small business owners and home based workers. These attacks are forecast to significantly increase as small businesses are often ill-equipped to cope and depend on their computer systems to function.

Group member Philip Watson has negotiated an affordable small business cyber insurance policy available exclusively to Group members. He will officially launch it at this meeting.
