Londata V: Telling Stories with Data

Rumours of our summer break turned out to be unfounded :-)

We're delighted to be able to bring you, at short notice, a fantastic evening in the company of Irene Ros and Alex Graul.

Irene, leads data visualisation at Boston based Bocoup and has recently worked on the 'Many Eyes' initiative with IBM.

Alex is part of the Guardian Interactive team that recently won the data journalism award for visualisation -

Together they have collaborated on The Miso Project, supported by The Gates Foundation. Data Viz tales aplenty they have to share...

Talking very much to the Londata vision of 'putting data to work' they will be covering the following:

> Building charts to communicate insight
> Using data visualisation to educate & inform clients/potential clients
> Choosing what data matters (& picking appropriate visualisation techniques)

A stimulating, informative and enjoyable evening awaits, of that we can be sure.

Joe Parry

Joe Parry is the founder of Cambridge Intelligence, who make browser-based visualisation & investigation tools for the security sector. He has thirteen years experience of developing software for intelligence & law enforcement communities of the UK, US and other countries.

Register now as places are limited due to space on this event, we are also looking for a food and drink SPONSOR if you can help and want to reach over 2000 Data focused individuals then drop me a line.

Informative, speakers delivering well-prepared talks, easy to follow for a layman such as myself and friendly atmosphere.

Lots of interesting ideas to take home, I particularly enjoyed the Q&A at the end, great to see people engaging with Alex, Irene and Joe at the end.
