7pm to 9pm - A chance for willing participants to read out a piece of writing that they have been working on, in order to receive constructive feedback from the group. This is completely voluntary, and the regulars will no doubt have something to read if you only want to listen / critique. The reading time is up to ten minutes (~2000 words). We normally get through about 6 pieces in a session.
We have a Gmail account which everyone usually logs in to during the meeting to read along on laptops/devices (password and account will be given out at the meeting). Alternatively bring printouts for others to follow. This is voluntary, but it helps tremendously in understanding and critiquing your work if we can actually have it in front of us rather than just hearing it.
Please note that the venue provides the room free of charge. Drinks and any food should be purchased from the pub, and the room left as we find it. Please join us in this joint responsibilty.
From 9pm we normally have a couple of drinks and some lively debates (sometimes about plays/novels/movies - but often not).
Those in attendance range from complete novices to well seasoned writers. Whatever your level we would welcome you to the group.
