What we're about
Upcoming events (1)
During the last few CMX London meet-ups, we have been hearing that there are lots of new community managers looking to skill up and learn from the pros. Building community can often be a challenge, but there's no need to start from square one - the fantastic CMX London community has great advice to share.
Join us virtually on Thursday, September 30th 2021 at 1pm for a knowledge exchange in which our community pros and our community newbies swap ideas, address challenges, and unstick sticky situations. To start, we will break off into small groups for an open conversation where new community managers can ask questions and learn from our more advanced community leaders. Then we'll come back together and share out key points and takeaways that came out of the conversations.
We invite experienced community leaders - those of you who know the ropes and have many years of experience in the field - to share your wisdom with the community.
We invite new community managers - those of you who have just started on your community journey and who are looking to ask the hard questions - to discover what works best from leaders.
We are crowdsourcing questions ahead of time, so please look out for a message on Slack and Facebook to share your most challenging or frustrating dilemmas.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Serena Snoad, Online Community Manager
I have been building and managing online communities for 11 years. I'm currently working to deliver a peer support community for Alzheimer's Society.
I oversee three teams of staff and volunteers, ensure everyone gets the support they need, manage our developer relationships and oversee our budget and strategy.
Outside of work, I blog about community management from a non-profit perspective. I also love to travel, enjoy good food, art, films and comedy.
Michelle Sims - CMX Connect Host, Global Community Manager
I'm the Global Community Lead for London fintech startup, Finimize and we're building the largest finance community in the world. I lead the global events program and our ambassador team of 50 high-performing remote volunteers who organise 250+ events a year in 35 countries.
I have a passion for empowering women so in 2018 I launched the Female Financial Dialogue movement which is a global event series helping more women invest. This event has now scaled to 15 cities and reached around the world by Finimize community members.
Previously I managed co-living communities in magical properties for entrepreneurs, travellers and digital nomads in Europe, Asia and USA.
Lauren Gross, Managing Director
I am the Managing Director for The Mesa, a B2B community platform from I.G. Advisors exclusively for the third sector. Our mission is to mobilise more resources for good by supporting philanthropists and social impact leaders to learn, grow and collaborate online. I am also passionate about offline communities and have created a number of giving circles that gather in-person. Outside of work, I like to play tennis, explore old English churches, and find new neapolitan pizza spots!
Advancing the community industry and helping community professionals thrive.
