This is a recorded screening of the West End musical: Merrily We Roll Along. This show gained more 5 star reviews than any other musical in West End history!
Starring: Mark Umbers, Jenna Russell, Damian Humbley
Director: Maria Friedman
Maria Friedman's hugely acclaimed production of the Sondheim musical classic, captured live at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Franklin Shepard (Mark Umbers) was once a feted composer of Broadway musicals. But now he's left that life behind to forge a new career as a producer of vulgar Hollywood films. He's also abandoned his old friends, including writer Mary Flynn (Jenna Russell) and former artistic collaborator Charley Kringas (Damian Humbley). At a party to celebrate the premiere of his latest film, Franklin reflects on the compromises that have led to his wealth and status. Stephen Sondheim's 1981 musical is a powerful exploration of youthful idealism and middle-aged disillusion. It also features some of his most beautiful songs, including 'Good Thing Going', 'Not a Day Goes By' and 'Old Friends'. Triple Olivier Award-winner Maria Friedman made her thrilling directorial debut with this perfectly cast and universally acclaimed revival, which was recorded live at the Harold Pinter Theatre earlier this year.
Cineworld Unlimited card holders pay just £5 (a lot cheaper than seeing the show live!). If you do not hold an Unlimited card, please buy your ticket as normal. If you book your ticket online in advance, this is 10% cheaper than buying from the cinema on the day.

About Cineworld Unlimited
London Cinema Meetup hosts a lot of events at Cineworld cinemas (usually for seeing the latest releases, most commonly in the West End). If you like watching films regularly (more than once a month) it might be cheaper to buy a Cineworld Unlimited card for £18.90 a month - this allows you to watch as many films as you like at Cineworld cinemas (including the ones we normally use in the West End, in Shaftesbury Avenue or in Haymarket).
The card gives you a discount off "Event screenings" (like this meetup!), a 10% discount off food and drink bought in the cinemas, and some local discount offers too. There is a cheaper version of the card for £15.90, but this is not valid for the Cineworld cinemas in the West End.
Currently there is an offer of getting 'one free month' if you sign up using the promotion code below:
This code has to be entered in the payments section under "promotions".
Please check terms and conditions. To obtain a card you can use this website (you will need a digital photo of your face, which will appear on the card to identify you): http://www.unlimitedcineworld.com
Look forward to seeing you there :)
