  • This is just a "lets see if there's any interest" post at present so don't go off buying tickets unless you are definitely keen on going anyway. It's not really a "gig" as such, although there are performances, but it's something a little different so I thought I'd see if there was any interest. The UK Americana Music Association are holding their Awards Ceremony on 2 February 2017. Although its mainly for those in the association, there are unreserved seats available to the public in the upper gallery which are £20 or only £15 if we book "early bird". As a rough guide, the following artists performed at the 2016 ceremony: Gretchen Peters, Bear’s Den, Danny & The Champions of the World, The Dreaming Spires, Emily Barker, Lewis & Leigh, Cale Tyson, Robert Vincent and special guest Billy Bragg.

So its a bit of a mixture and there's probably loads of "thank you" speeches, but it might be interesting. If anyone is interested, sign up and if we can get a few of us together, we'll make it an official outing!

For those already booked, or those still thinking about it, the UK AMA have just released their nominations for the awards in February. This will give us a clue as to who might be performing there. The Lifetime Achievement Award is going to Richard Thompson so I guess he is a definite performer! The full list of nominees is here:

As there has now been a bit of interest in this, let's make it all official and confirmed!

So I recommend that anyone who is interested should get their tickets asap. I've just booked mine today. Tickets are available from:

The public only get access to the unreserved seats upstairs and if you book now, they are only £15 (plus booking) on the Early Bird offer. They will go up to £20 plus booking at some stage. For more details on the event itself you can check out:

We can arrange a suitable meetup spot nearer the time.
