The Internet is arguably the most important invention in the last 100 years. It has changed our lives enormously, and every year we see new innovations that can have a positive impact on our lives. As software developers, we are creating history all of the time. And to understand the wide range of software we have available today, we can look into and learn from our history.

Undoubtedly, the biggest catalyst for the development of the Internet has been the invention of World Wide Web. In this talk, Kevin begins with the pioneering work of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, explaining how over the years the Web has evolved into Web 2.0, and then into the modern era of Cloud Computing, HTTP/2 and the Internet of Things.

"The Web as I envisaged it, we have not seen it yet. The future is still so much bigger than the past." - Tim Berners-Lee
