I actually expected an discussions event, kind of a workshop or meet and greet and was surprised that I was supposed to sit through 4 presentations before having the opportunity to interact. The first presentation was great, but then I felt a little disappointed and left. I also didn't meet any fellow Europeans except Donald before the event despite being very punctual.

Thank you Pauleen for posting the event and for the chat afterwards. It was interesting to learn how various issues faced by Europeans in London, from homelessness and access to pensions to companies, with delays in product recognition are addressed by the organisations which introduced themselves yesterday. I hope a lot of Europeans in London will participate in the EU elections next year.

Many thanks to you all for coming and contributing to the event. Jean did make a special welcome to European Club members in her opening address so hopefully all the audience heard that. I managed to meet and speak with some but not all of you so apologies to those I missed - there was a lot to keep organising and do even after the event but I hope to meet you at future events.

The informal session after the presentations with drinks and nibbles was very fruitful.
I did mention the LEC when I asked a question.

Apart from the first presentation (which was also audible and well organised) the other presentations weren't helpful to most Europeans and they didn't address the supposed topic.
I did eventually meet four other LEC members. I am very easily identified and walked up and down before the meeting started but Pauline did not make herself known to me - I don't know if I would recognise her.

Thanks Pauleen for the invitation. To be honest, I've never had any problems as a EU national in UK. I've used the benefits system and now I just work and consume. I picked a copy of the Treaty (hope it wasn't for sale) and, most importantly, a handful of electoral registration forms.

Interesting presentations that dragged on a bit. However, hopefully this may lead to more. For example to the Millbank TMO and Citizenship Forum.

London is the "secret" capital of Europe as far as many Brits are concerned. The rest of us know, enjoy and work with it as a reality.

Looking forward to welcoming you all on April 10th. The event is also open to other members of the public, not just European Club members so should be quite a lively discussion.

Could I just remind those who have not yet registered at www.yourlondon.eventbrite.com to do so asap.

    Many thanks!

Pauleen, I'm so sorry - I won't be able to make it on the 10th. Do I need to cancel through Eventbrite?
