Note: The organizer will not be taking the train from London but will meet you at Amersham Train Station/see meeting and travel options below..
This short country walk explorers some of the woods and fields to the south of Amersham including the South Bucks Way and parts of the River Misbourne.
Amersham has one of the best-preserved high streets of any Chiltern town. Most of its buildings date from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, while some date back to the fifteenth century.
Lunch & Finish
Please bring a snack lunch and water for the walk. Our walks usually finish at about 4.00pm and include a 30 min lunch stop, however the time may be earlier or later than this depending on the weather and pace (we have a relaxed pace which includes sightseeing and photography).
Walk Cost: £4 (meetup/organizer fee).
Meet from 11.15am outside Amersham railway station for the walk to start at 11.35am (after the train from London).
Train from London: The 10.57am train from London Marylebone gets to Amersham for 11.32am. See: Chiltern Railways
I would encourage you to seek out other members who can go as part of a group save on the train and meet from 10.30am to give you time to get tickets/group saves, close to the WHSmith shop at London Marylebone (see picture above).
The organizer will meet you at Amersham station, you will need to get the train from London independently.
I would encourage you to seek out other members who are driving from London, or who can go as part of a group save on the train.
