This workshop is offered for those who care for children and those who are interested in learning new skills for bringing systemic constellations principles to the lives of children, young adults and parents. The day will introduce and demonstrate the ecl method which was developed by Judith Hemming and other world leading Constellations Facilitators and educators for the ECL Foundation (Enhancing Children’s Lives).

Dear Constellations Explorers,

Many children, despite their best efforts, find it difficult to engage with learning. Sometimes this affects their behaviour or their desire to go to school; always it affects their attainment. The impact on the children, parents and schools is often considerable.

Dissolving Barriers to Learning is a resource for schools and parents who need to create new strategies for children or older pupils experiencing difficulties. This one-day workshop offers a systemic approach in which the significant influences surrounding the child are identified and a clear, concise map of these factors in relation to the child is built up.

When seen in this context, the difficulties of the child become more visible and understandable. New insights emerge, allowing unforeseen solutions to become possible which enable those surrounding the child to develop fresh strategies for moving forward.

- A new shared picture of the fuller situation emerges.

- This enables the development of new strategies for progress.

Parents, head teachers, teachers, support staff and other professionals may bring an issue on behalf of a child. The child does not usually attend, although older pupils (16+) may sometimes attend in person. Parents and school may come together. Other participants may attend who wish to experience or learn from the approach.

The workshop is facilitated by Jane James who has taught in early years, secondary and teacher training settings and is a systemic practitioner and coach and Illi Adato founder and head facilitator at the Acknowledging What Is Institute, an experienced and innovative practitioner and teacher of systemic & family constellations.
