London International Meetup's English Club will help you to improve your English language ability and knowledge of British culture in a fun and social way.
Today's class will be led by Lorella. Lorella is a specialist in phonetics, with a degree in linguistics. The current focus of the English Club will be on pronunciation.
* These English Club events are mixed classes - Intermediate and Advanced students are welcome. It does not matter if you have not attended the previous classes - you can join at any time *
The class will start at 7pm (please arrive by 7:30pm at the latest) and will finish at 9pm. There is a charge of £10: please pay when you arrive.
This event is held in a classroom which we are hiring at a language school called Malvern House.
The nearest Tube station is Kings Cross St Pancras:
- From the Metropolitan/Hammersmith & City/Circle lines, exit in front of the train station (Euston Road, north side), go past the front of King's Cross station, cross over York Way (there is a McDonalds on the corner) and walk up Pentonville Road. Cross over Caledonian Road, Northdown Street and Killick Street - then you will find the Malvern House school entrance on your left (just before the entrance to the large Nido Student Living building).
- From the Northern/Piccadilly/Victoria lines you can take the Pentonville Road exit - when you come out of this you cross over the road, turn right and you will find Malvern House entrance further down on your left (just before the entrance to the large Nido Student Living building).
Walk straight through the ground floor entrance area, then go through a door on your right and go up the staircase (there may be some "London International Meetup: English Club" or "Cactus" signs to guide you). Go to the main Malvern House entrance on the first floor - walk through the barrier (which should be open) and ask the person at the reception desk to direct you to the London International Meetup English Club. The class will probably be in room K18 (Victoria) or K19 (Whitechapel). Just knock and go in and introduce yourself to the teacher Lorella.
Please bring a pen and some paper with you.
There is a common area where you can wait if you are early. There is a drinks machine dispensing hot drinks, and crisps/sweets are available from a vending machine - but please do not bring these into the classroom.
The number of places is limited, so please make sure that you attend if you have RSVPed Yes (and change your RSVP to No as early as possible if you are unable to come for some reason).
