What we're about

This is a Meetup group for people who identify as LGBTQI+ who also love yoga!

There are two teachers, Caroline and Rad:

Caroline

I teach hatha flow yoga. It’s great for beginners as well as intermediates; for those who want to tone and build their strength, refine their practice, or simply chill out with a welcoming bunch of people.

My aim is to create a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable environment, no ego, no comparison and no judgement. If you’re new to yoga or feeling a little uncertain in gay environments, identify or feel more comfortable in women's spaces, then this is also a safe and welcoming space for you ☺

All classes are mixed level and combine gentle flowing hatha yoga with breathing (pranayama) and relaxation. Tone up and wind down in an environment where the emphasis is on getting what you need. We'll build a community and have some fun along the way.

If you'd like to know more, drop me a line here on Meetup or check out my website http://www.friendlyyogalondon.com .

About me: I'm a Registered Yoga Teacher with international governing body Yoga Alliance and have been practising yoga for nearly two decades. I originally trained with leading UK yoga school Yogacampus and am an eternal yoga student.

Rad

My passion is to inspire and empower men on their personal life journey, to unable them to recognise their own definition of happiness, integrity and power. I know how much Yoga has influenced and changed my life and I am here to inspire you to give it a GO! I love my students. I love seeing smiles arriving on their faces when they do yoga.

Last few years I've tailored the different practices of yoga to my individual style of teaching - yoga4men and I have dedicated myself to bring the practices of yoga, meditation and well-being to the male community. My prime interest is to inspire and empower men on their personal life journeys and to enable them to recognise their own definition of happiness, integrity and power.

Whenever you do yoga4men class you will have a BLAST! It's a balance of playful discovery, mindfulness, challenging physical practice and inspiring philosophy. It is a slower paced yoga focusing on each pose and how to get there, to help build strength and prevent injury. It is a style that puts much emphasis on perfecting alignment, listening to your body, and working within your means as you learn and challenge yourself at your own pace.

Simply - yoga4men ROCKS! It helps you radically change the way you look at life and recognise the infinite possibilities of your own existence. WOW!

Come along and see what it's all about :-)

Welcome to the group!

Yoga & coffee in Brixton

Stillpoint Yoga

£10.00

We got together this week with women from the Yoga for Lesbian, Bisexual Women group (I've just taken this over!) Chilling out together during the yoga session paved the way for some great chats over coffee! :-) If you didn't make it, don't be shy, come next week if you can. Everyone is really welcome. And if you want to come just for coffee, that's fine too! Yoga The style is hatha flow, so flowing slowly between yoga postures with a focus on breathing and calming the mind, building strength and flexibility too. The venue is Stillpoint Yoga Brixton, 41- 43 Acre Lane which is about 8 mins walk from Brixton tube, you can also get there on the 37, 35, P5 and 355 buses: https://www.stillpointyogalondon.com/stillpoint-yoga-brixton/ http://content.tfl.gov.uk/bus-route-maps/brixton-acre-lane-a4-150717.pdf Access is next door to a coffee shop called House of Hygge, just past the big Tesco if you're coming from the tube direction. Coffee We'll head for coffee - this week we ended up at the cosy Brixton Blend but there are others to try too. https://www.brixtonblend.co.uk/ Any questions, give me a shout! Looking forward to meeting you. Carolinex
