Advanced Pianists Performance Event

This is an informal session and an opportunity for advanced pianists (grade 8, diploma and above) to play repertoire pieces.

We will play for up to 15 minutes each. This can be one long piece or a few shorter pieces. Each participant may invite one guest. Because of space constraints there will be no spectators apart from players' guests.

There will be a good quality of Schimmel grand piano at Peregrine's Pianos.

We share the hire costs £8 a person. Players' guests are free of charge.

Some really super performances, especially Scriabin etude and Feux d'Artifice.

I also enjoyed both Sophia's and Lewis' performances especially. And agree with Lewis about the great performance of the Scriabin etude Op 8 No 12.

It was a great event, very ably and selflessly arranged by Sophia Cho. Many thanks. A good standard of performances and nice to see everyone too. It was also nice to have a coffee and snack with those that joined us. I liked the Schimmel piano too.

I am very sorry but am going to be slightly late, as have been delayed. According to Google Maps, my estimated time or arrival will be 10:40. Please don't play first, Lewis or Marika, as I really don't want to miss you! Apologies again, Sophia, for my possible late arrival - I'll wait until a break in performance, of course, before entering! David

  • David D.

Hi Sophia, I was going to ask similar questions to Marika actually! Was also wondering if you could extend the time we have to two hours, as 90 mins seems very tight for eight performances?

    • Sophia C.

Hi David, Thanks for your RSVP. I wasn't sure if performers will be full and also, I have experiences at the previous events, some of them cancelled their attending at the last minute. But this time, I will receive all your payments by 15th Nov (next Tuesday) so that I can extend the time for 2 hours. I'll send you a message with my bank details. Thanks

In addition, Peregrine's Pianos has got a strict cancellation policy, whereas Wimbledon. That's why I wanted to make sure all performers attending..
