  • In the course of our daily lives, at work and at home, we do many

things without question of why or how we do them. We do them perhaps
because that's what our parents did, or that was what we did in our
first job, or that was what we read in a book. Work task-based
estimation is one of those things.

In this talk @sleepyfox will look at the business justifications for
why estimates are considered necessary, examine the cognitive process
of how we estimate, look at some of the 174 forms of known cognitive
bias that affect estimation, and consider what, if any, alternatives
    exist.

    Agenda:

    6:30 – 7:00 - Networking

     7:00 - 8:00 Nigel's Talk

     8:00 - 8:15 Q&A

     8:15 - 8:45 Networking

    Organisers note

    Food and refreshments

Hotels.com is a website. And an App. But mostly, it’s a company full of people. And it’s our people who make Hotels.com better than any other website, app, or brand not named Hotels.com.

We are enterprising, intelligent and supportive. We work in an environment that encourages innovation, creativity and diversity; in the Hotels.com brand Technology Group we may speak DIFFERENT LANGUAGES but we all speak the SAME CODE.

And when somebody says it can’t be done we don’t hear it. Every day we work to provide an unsurpassed booking experience.

At Hotels.com not only do we LOVE TRAVEL, we LOVE TECHNOLOGY!
