Join us for a walk in two of London's finest parks, Hampstead Heath Park and Golders Hill Park. There are managed by the City of London Corporation. We'll walk through Hampstead Heath and head to Golders Green Park. There is a small zoo (free to visit) in Golders Hill Park with fallow deer, rheas, ring-tailed lemurs, eagle-owls...

Walk length 7.5 miles (12 km) approx. linear. We start at Hampstead Heath Station (Overground) and finish at Cricklewood, and not far Cricklewood Station (trains to Sutton via St Pancras Intl.) and from Kilburn (Jubilee line, 11 min).

Please note that you need to be fit and able to walk at a normal pace. There are gentle slopes. The ending time and walking distance are approximative, depending on the pace and weather.

The Hill Garden with Pergola is one of London best-kept treasures and is even known as the 'secret garden'. Wedding parties are hosted nearby.

Built in 1904 by Lord Leverhulme, the Pergola is a large raised walkway which is an elegant building surrounded by a delightful garden. Its decaying appearance and melancholy would have appealed to the nineteenth-century Romantics. It is an eerie place. The Pergola is a fine example of Edwardian extravaganza.

After visiting the Pergola, we'll stop at the Old Bull and Bush pub for a quick drink and toilets break. Then, we'll visit Golders Hill Park where we'll stop 15 min. to see the free zoo and
another toilets break, before following the road to Cricklewood.

We'll have optional drinks at The Beaten Docket pub, Cricklewood, at the end of the walk. The nearest stations are Cricklewood (for St Pancras Intl, Blackfriars and Sutton), Kilburn (Jubilee) and Brondesbury (Overground), approx. 8, 11 and 13 min. walk respectively.

Comfortable walking shoes with ankle protection and bottled water are recommended. Weather Policy (http://www.meetup.com/London-Stress-Relief-and-Social/pages/20970392/Weather_Policy/) - Walking Policy (https://www.meetup.com/London-Stress-Relief-and-Social/pages/21683392/Walking_Policy/)
