Come along for this walk/hike around Ealing Broadway. We shall walk through Pitshanger Park, follow the River Brent, see a Victorian viaduct, Lammas Park and Walpole Park before returning to our starting point.

Walk length: 8 miles (13 km) approx. circular - The path is smooth with gentle slopes. The pace is relaxed though you need to be fit. The end time may vary, depending on the pace and weather.

Please note that this is a longer walk. Only RSVP if you're comfortable with walking long distances.

There is a 35-minute break planned midway at the Viaduct Pub, for a toilet break and a quick drink. We shall then continue through the Brent River Park in Hanwell, and walk under the viaduct.

The Wharncliffe viaduct was built in[masked]. It was completed the year Victoria became queen. It carries the Great Western Railway (GWR) across the Brent Valley, between Hanwell and Southall, at 66 feet (20 m) high. Its length is 70 feet (21 m). The viaduct was constructed for the opening of the GWR, the first railway built in Britain. (Wikipedia)

At the end of the walk, there will be optional drinks at the Sir Michael Balcon pub, 5 min. away from Ealing Broadway Station.

In the event you need to drop out the walk, please let a member of the group know so we are reassured you're well.

Comfortable walking shoes and bottled water are recommended. Weather Policy ( Policy (
