Join us for a short walk in Forest Hill. We'll stroll through one of London's finest nature reserves, Sydenham Hill Wood. This is a remaining patch of the old Great North Wood which stretched from Deptford to Selhurst.

Walk length: 4 miles (6 kms) approx., circular.

We'll then visit Dulwich Park and its small wetland and the Horniman Museum. There is a stop at the garden of the Horniman Museum for the view of central London, before visiting the museum. The museum opened in 1901. The main collection is free to visit.

Dulwich park was opened in 1890. In[masked], the park was restored to its original Victorian layout. In December 2011, a sculpture by Barbara Hepworth, Two Forms (Divided Circle) was stolen. Suspected scrap metal thieves cut it from its plinth.

At the end of the walk, we'll use the Capitol pub near Forest Hill Station. This is a former late 1920s cinema converted into a beautiful pub.

Meetup cost: £3 payable cash on the day.

Coming from central London, use the pedestrian crossing toward the exit where we meet (opposite track).

Comfortable walking shoes and bottled water are recommended. Weather Policy ( - Walking Policy (
