Speakers and sessions:

1. Alex Housley (https://twitter.com/ahousley) - CEO & Founder, Seldon (https://www.seldon.io/)

Deploying TensorFlow models on Kubernetes

Machine learning is now everywhere, with no shortage of open-source technologies and new and updated tools released every week – from streaming databases to machine learning libraries and pre-trained models. It’s easier than ever to train a model, but piecing together the components to deploy, optimise and scale machine learning in production is time consuming and expensive. Too many companies are reinventing the wheel by building and maintaining their own infrastructure.

Seldon (https://www.seldon.io/)

Seldon helps data scientists and developers focus on solving problems by providing a fully integrated open-source machine learning model deployment platform (https://github.com/SeldonIO/seldon-server/). Kubernetes has transformed the way in which Seldon deploys to any cloud platform and on bare metal servers. At London TensorFlow Meetup, Alex will give a technical overview of Seldon, share its transition to a fully dockerized set of containers running inside Kubernetes, and demonstrate how to deploy a TensorFlow model on an enterprise-grade machine learning cluster.

Alex Housley (https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexhousley/)

Alex has been building mobile and analytics start-ups since 2003. He is currently CEO and founder of Seldon, a start-up with a purpose to help people solve some of the world’s biggest problems with machine intelligence. Seldon is a machine learning model deployment platform that serves hundreds of millions of recommendations and predictions per month. Seldon works with a diverse client-base including some of the world’s largest and most innovative companies, and a global community of data scientists and developers uses its open-source technology. Recognised as one of the UK’s top AI start-ups, Seldon is part of Barclays Accelerator powered by Techstars, where its talented team are solving high-value problems in the finance sector.

2. Gonzalo Ruiz (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ctocloud/) - CTO, Microsoft Accelerator (https://www.microsoftaccelerator.com/)and

Avik Sengupta (https://www.linkedin.com/in/aviks/) - VPoE, Julia Computing (http://juliacomputing.com/)

The Power of Three : Deep learning at scale with TensorFlow, Julia and Azure

During this session we will talk about how to run deep learning at scale with TensorFlow, Julia and Azure.

Julia (http://julialang.org/) is a high-level, high-performance dynamic programming language for technical computing, with syntax that is familiar to users of other technical computing environments. It provides a sophisticated compiler, distributed parallel execution (http://docs.julialang.org/en/stable/manual/parallel-computing/), numerical accuracy, and an extensive mathematical function library (http://docs.julialang.org/en/stable/stdlib/)

Microsoft Azure (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/) is an open, flexible, enterprise-grade cloud computing platform that provides first-class support for technologies like Kubernetes, Docker and deep learning.

During this session we will show how to apply the style transfer technique to videos using Kubernetes, TensorFlow, Julia bindings and Azure.

Gonzalo Ruiz (https://twitter.com/gonzaloruizca)

As CTO in the Microsoft London Accelerator (https://www.microsoftaccelerator.com/), Gonzalo helps top-class start-ups in Europe to build state of the art digital businesses using Microsoft Azure. We deliver in-depth technical programs that allow engineering teams to build scalable cloud platforms.

Avik Sengupta (https://twitter.com/aviksengupta)

Avik Sengupta has worked on risk and trading systems in investment banking for many years, mostly using Java interspersed with snippets of the more exotic languages such as R and K. This experience left him wondering whether there were better things out there. Avik's quest came to a happy conclusion with the appearance of Julia in 2012. He has been happily coding in Julia and contributing to it ever since. He is currently the VP Engineering at Julia Computing (http://juliacomputing.com/).
