The Historic Squares of Chelsea's Kings Road, Walking Tour.

As the world's leading authority on The Historic Squares of London, let Gary Powell take you on an enchanting journey along the fashionable King's Road in London's exclusive Chelsea; home of the rich and famous, but also a place where much murder, mayhem, artistry and intrigue has taken place over the centuries.

See what others are saying about Gary's expertise by reading the outstanding reviews of his book on London's Famous Squares.

"Fascinating, quirky and sometimes flabbergasting. Indeed, it is of interest to anyone, London dweller or not, who has ever wandered through a London square and wondered about its history."

"We learn of famous residents and dastardly deeds - there are murders a plenty here- and we can track the development of London thought its squares and those who live, and have lived, in them. From riches to rags and back to riches again in some cases"

This glorious walk reveals six delightful, rarely noticed squares situated on one of London's most desirable streets.

The Kings Road in Chelsea was a former private road used by King Charles II to access Kew and beyond; now the Kings Road is better known for its fashion houses.

The walk also reveals the former fictional home of one spy and the factual home of another, the murders of a man of god and his house-keeper but in two different houses situated in two different squares. A couple of poets, England's 'Wickedest man alive', and one of this country's greatest military leaders.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy one of London's most fashionable streets whilst learning the many secrets of its squares.

The tour finishes two minutes walk from Sloane Square tube station.

Please take care crossing the roads and look after your valuables. The tour takes place in some of the nicest streets in London and Gary will of course use his experience to guide you all around as safely as he can.  London Walking Tours and/or London Premier Walking Tours cannot accept any liability for any personal injury or loss as a direct or indirect result of taking the tour.

This was a great tour - Gary was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. It was a very small group - a great shame as lots of you missed out, but great for us!
The tour took in some Squares that I was familiar with, but introduced me to a few that I wasn't. Gary gave us lots of information about the history of the Squares, pointing out significant houses like the one where Kim Philby lived, where AA Milne wrote his first novel and where Becket lived.
I would recommend this walk as a great way to spend a couple of hours.
