The WordPress London Meetup has always been an event that brings us closer together in real life and away from our screens. In these times we recognise that some may not want to spend additional time at their screens in the evening, to be part of a #WPLDN event. So #WPLDN Daytime will be a trimmed down version of the Virtual #WPLDN events we've now come to know and love. With a speaker and an element of socialising, take an hours break at lunchtime and join the #WPLDN Daytime team.
✍️ Testing the fortifications – Hack Yourself
So you’ve been to the security, that other security talk and that really scary one. You followed the advice, and you are feeling confident. Perhaps you have never been to a security talk let alone scary one but feel its time to at least find out how you stand. In this talk, Tim is going to go through how to run a basic penetration test of a WordPress website. From start to finish, looking at scope, research, execution, and remediation. He will be demonstrating tools to use and processes to follow, so you can see how secure your site is or isn’t.
🗣 Presented by Tim Nash. Tim is the platform lead at 34SP.com for their Managed WordPress product in addition to being the companies developer advocate. One day he will work out what either of those job titles means. Until he does he spends his day in a mix of dev, security, ops and project management as well as speaking at user groups and conferences. He also helps run WordPress Leeds and writes for several publications including his own site https://timnash.co.uk/. Follow him @tnash (https://twitter.com/tnash)

The #WPLDN is supported by a team of volunteers: Dan (https://blue37.com/), Diane (http://sitebydiane.co.uk/), Paul (http://www.paul-smart.co.uk/) & Leo (https://sotic.net/)
