Every Sunday from 8pm, social dancing to records (and once a month a band) in the large Community Centre in Colliers Wood, which is less than five minutes walk from Colliers Wood tube station (or there's a free car park behind the building).
There is no need to bring a partner as we encourage our dancers to mix, there are usually more women than men, but there's a more equal ratio than at most places. You may bring your own drinks, and there is a large Co op Supermarket next door which stays open until 10pm, wherein you may buy drinks and snacks. We provide glasses.
Dress code is casual. We play contemporary records of waltz, quickstep, slow foxtrot, tango, rumba, cha cha, jive, samba and salsa, which are rotated on a ten week cycle, and we have a band playing once a month
Entry for the social dancing only is £5 which you pay on the door, even when we have live music. (or it's £7 for the social dance and lessons)
We do dance lessons in the same building, also on every Sunday, from 5pm to 8pm, at three levels with two teachers in two separate rooms.
