What we're about

Welcome to Outdoor Photography Adventures

OPA specialises in running workshops and events to help you master the controls of your camera, so that you can create professional quality photographs in the field of outdoor photography. We love going on adventures in and around London, the UK and worldwide. We've been known to hit the road and travel in any direction that has photographic potential.

We run workshops for absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced users. All of the workshops are relaxed and lots of fun. We try to remove as much of the complicated jargon as possible as well as giving you hands-on experience in a professional environment.

This meetup is part of London Photographic https://www.meetup.com/londonphotographic (http://www.londonphotographic.uk/)

Brutalist architecture at The Barbican - Shoot the urban landscape

Pret A Manger

£25.00

The Barbican with its brutal but beautiful architecture is the subject for today's walk. With its coarse concrete surfaces, elevated gardens, high-rise towers along with the element of light and shadow, the Barbican is an amazing place to photograph whether skies are blue or grey.

We have a series of mini projects designed to help you focus on the many different genres you will find at the Barbican. There is something here for everyone.

Expect to have a great time meeting fellow photographers whilst we wander through the varied grounds photographing the architecture, light and shadow, abstract, flower and garden areas, fountains and water and of course the people that make up the brutalist Barbican complex.

We'll end the session over a cup of tea or coffee discussing what we've managed to achieve.

Turning Form into Rhythm!

Pret A Manger

£20.00

A concrete column is not just a concrete column!

Some imagery has immediate impact and it is easy to understand why we are able to connect with it so easily. Landscapes, portraiture and street photography fall naturally into this category.

Other images remain 'unseen' because many consider the subject to hold little value.

By allowing your imagination and command of your photographic tools to expand and evolve you will be able to both see and capture the artistic value in any given situation with any subject.

Join us to explore the many forms in and around the imposing Barbican site that are often overlooked and underappreciated as we turn form into rhythm using texture, colour, light and space.
