London Wherewolf Meetup Participation Guidelines

We want to keep the London Wherewolf meetup awesome, and we need your help to keep it that way. In general, you must:

  • Be respectful of the venue: Shouting and yelling is not permitted. Bringing outside food or drinks is not permitted at venues that serve them, so please do not bring your own to the meetup. Theft of food or drinks from the venue will not be tolerated. Please remember that these events are held in places that do not charge us for the space. We need to be respectful of the businesses that are kind enough to offer us a free place to meet.
  • Be nice to other people: Be courteous, respectful and polite to fellow members. No offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, etc. Real or implied violence, intimidation, stalking, following, sustained disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact, or unwelcome sexual attention will not be tolerated. We like nice people way better than mean ones!
  • Encourage diversity and participation: Make everyone in our meetup feel welcome, regardless of their background.
Keep it legal: Basically, don’t get us in trouble, and don’t break the law.
  • Stay on topic: Try to avoid off-topic conversations during the game. Also remember that nobody likes spam.

Guideline violations — 3 strikes method:

The point of this section is not to find opportunities to punish people, but we do need a fair way to deal with people who harm our meetup group. Extreme violations of a threatening, abusive, destructive, or illegal nature will be addressed immediately and are not subject to 3 strikes.

  • First occurrence: We’ll give you a friendly reminder that the behavior is inappropriate according to our guidelines.
  • Second occurrence: We’ll send you a private, written message with a warning that any additional violations will result in removal from the group.
  • Third occurrence: Depending on the violation, we might need to remove you from the group and ask you not to participate in future meetups.

  • Obvious spammers are banned on first occurrence. If we don’t do this, we’ll have spam all over the place.
  • Violations are forgiven after 6 months of good behavior, and we won’t hold a grudge.
  • Contact Gökçe Balkan, Dawn Foster, or Chris Handley via meetup to report or appeal violations. In the case of appeals, we know that mistakes happen, and we’ll work with you to come up with a fair solution if there has been a misunderstanding.

Credit to and, since they formed the starting point for many of these guidelines.
