Details

We are combining the Wicca Full moon & Wicca Winter Solstice rituals and running it as one event at Queen's Woods.

"Winter Solstice is the time when the Sun is at it’s lowest (nadir), resulting in the longest night and darkness appears to be enveloping all. Inwardly, it’s a time when hope and faith may be ebbing low and the future looks bleak. It is precisely at this point that the festive energy is needed to shift the magic within, and to celebrate the birth of the Sun Child! From here onwards, the night time starts to reduce, and daylight grows.. to a point of balance between dark and light (at Spring) and to the long days at Summer! As a symbol of hope and life, celebrants decorate the Altar and indoors with bright objects and keep greenery (ever Greens.. ie Yule tree and of course holly etc). A Yule log is also burnt in the ire, symbolising the coming of warmth and fire." (taken from www.WitchcraftandMagic.uk (http://www.witchcraftandmagic.uk/) )

Date: Sunday 21st December 2015

Venue: Queen's Woods, North London (nearest tube: High Gate - northern line)

Time / meeting place: Please gather in the Woodman's Pub..on Archway Road from 2pm..in the garden area. We'll be having pre-rite drinks, ** talk-through* of ritual, assign roles...*before* going to the woods.

RITUAL :

This is an open ritual held in an outdoor park/woods with easy public access..

Out ritual *Team will conduct key aspects of the ceremony, with plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved in the actual ritual - ie with elements calling, chants, magical work and so on.

(*to join in as Ritual team, please contact Mani several weeks in advance. Of course You can also just join in the ritual as ordinary attendee on the day).

- Your ritual cloths/ robes/ cloaks

- Lanterns / candles / lighter
- Crystals / runes / divination tools
-Poetry / invocations (learnt or to read)

Our Wicca Ritual gatherings are ideal for people interested in Wicca & Witchcraft. They provide a sound Introduction to Wicca, Witchcraft & Ritual Magic - for all new comers and beginners, and serious Seekers of The Craft. Consisting of friendly and informal introductions, they then move on to a formal Wiccan Ritual - facilitated by Mani (experienced Wiccan High Priest).

( you can read extensively about each of these aspects of Wicca on our website..where short infor pages with some video training is also available. here is that link: http://www.witchcraftandmagic.uk/html/about_wicca.html

Note. No specific focus will be given to any Gardnerian/ Alexandrian/ Cochrane initiatory traditions. But useful aspects of those may be incorporated. These rituals aim to forge a more natural /primal witchcraft ..with additional aspects like correspondences (colours, oils, planets), arch angel work, both low and high magical aspects, as well as hedgewitchery.

Weather :

These ritual circles take place in public Woodlands or parks. As they are outdoors, at the mercy of elements (sunshine, storms, snow, fog etc).. If the weather is `bad', you just have to come prepared.. This is England.. Weather is unpredictable.. If you don't come prepared, you'll soon freeze-up and then wise up..!) :-)

By being outdoors in nature regularly in a ritual setting, you'll develop a real magical / psychic attunement & healthy respect to nature's wild energies, as well as an inner confidence, outdoor ritual experience and dare I say.. empowerment and magical competence... on top of learning/ practising Witchcraft & wicca in the natural wild way it is intended.
