Our Eco statement

Being outdoors in nature, taking people out of the cities & towns and encouraging them to attune to nature and rediscover primal empowerment - those have been my aims right from the start. BUT then, the very success of our aims creates its own challenges, learnings and responsibilities.

I am sad to notice the intrusive impact we have had on our lovely woods & parks.

So I have to now establish some boundaries ..to safeguard the very nature we all love so dearly.

0. When first arriving in woods.. please take a minute to be still..attune ..connect ..and commune with the woods, its local spirits etc. Then walk in mindfully.. slowly becoming more and more part of the woods.. as our auras blend with that of the woods. This way we'll pick up energy easily..

1. When entering, being in woods, and leaving in groups- please be as un-intrusive as possible. (less noise, sticking to woodland paths etc).

2. When setting up altars and sacred / ritual space, please do not remove foliage, grass, moss, ferns, dead leaves, and top soil from the spot .. We only need to tidy up the spot and take any existing glass/rubbish out.. Only a small spot needs tidying up to set altar. And when ritual is finished, please brush back the soil and dead leaves and return the spot to how it was...as much as possible.

3. Strictly no big fires for long periods please.. We only occasionally have small brief fires in a Cauldron or container...for ritual burning of magical items / spell craft. Afterwards it is made safe, all embers put out and carefully disposed of or burried or taken home.

4. No electric music/ CD players / systems that amplify music. We are in nature to be with nature... The only music we hear should be our (unplugged) musical instruments & chanting & singing. Event those are for short periods (especially drums at night)..so that we do not disturb the wild life around us.. and any houses nearby or other park/ woodland users, children, dog walkers, families etc.

5. Keep bags and belongings safe..but close proximity and together. So they do not take up large patches (unightly during ritual!).

6. Rubbish - food wrappers/ empty bottles/ plastic cups-
please take them home..put them in designated bin bags we provide or in your own bags/pockets (as I often do) and empty them in bins on the way out..or at home.

7. Tents / tarpaulin covers-
So please avoid setting up complicated / large canopy covers. All ou rituals take place in open space...under trees..not under plastic cover ..no matter the rain or shine.

8. Complex altars? No need.
Altars can be simple and be still beautiful. An altar needs to be functional.. and first and foremost must have all essential magical tools with easy and quick access.. The artistic / beautiful part of the altar can be further behind. Also it should be done in a way that the altar can be taken down and tidied up quickly.. 20 mins for set up and 10 mins for tidy is reasonable.. if 2-3 people are setting it up.

9. First candle being lit:
When lighting the first candle on altar or quarters, be mindful... take a silent moment to begin the magic .. asking for blessing of the gods/ goddess and any related quarter/ elements whose lantern you are setting up. This process takes time..so please do it mindfully.. The ceremony really starts..the moment we light the first candle!!

Long before I was even initiated, I sat in my garden and took an oath upon my Atame - to guard and protect nature. If you are journeying with me, then I dearly need your help and cooperation in these matters. Thank you.

Bright Blessings
-Mani
