On Saturday 5th October at 1:30pm, we will be visiting the London Archaeology Archive, which is part of the Museum of London for a themed visit called 'Diamonds in the Rough'.
About the archive & the tour
Based about 10 minutes from Old Street tube station, the archive which is not open to the public, holds archaeological finds from over 5000 digs in London from the last 100 years. They hold almost 1 million items from digs.
Although its a significant archive, they also clean, process and identify all the finds from current digs in London.
We are having a 90 minute guided tour of the archive based on the theme 'Diamonds in the Rough'. Be dazzled by 2,000 year old gold & emerald earrings, ornate hair pins and jet pendants and explore how jewellery and personal adornment shine in the museum’s archaeological archive.
The tour is limited to 20 people and we will be divided up into 2 groups for a guided tour.
The tour cost is £7 per person.
If you can't see us inside the station near the ticket barriers, please call or text.
