One evening a month for the next 4 months, we will be having a series of talks aimed at people in the group who are from overseas, who are new to London and would like to learn more about the country they are in and it's people.
They will be at a beginner to intermediate level and the talks will be given by myself using slides on the giant screen the pub has.
The talks will be on:
Wed 17th April - English History (from the Romans to the 20th century)
Thu 23rd May - English Language (how it's evolved and who influenced it)
Thu 13th June - English Architecture (different types and how to date it)
Thu 11th July - English People (mannerisms, culture, what makes us?)
Each talk will last about 1h 15mins, with questions afterwards.
About the first talk: English History
The first talk will be a potted history of English history, from the Roman invasion in AD 43 to the 20th century.
