Come along on Saturday 17th August for a coach trip to East Sussex to walk from Battle to Hastings!
About the trip
We will be walking 7.2miles from Battle (where the Battle of Hastings took park in 1066) to the fishing port of Hastings (where the battle took its name).
We will start the walk at the battlefield where the the Battle of Hastings took place. The battle was where William, Duke of Normandy defeated the English King Harold. We will then start walking cross country to Hastings.
The area is a mixture of hills, woods and orchards in picturesque East Sussex countryside. When we arrive at Hastings, there will be freetime to explore the town. Hastings is a picturesque fishing village, with lots of 16th century houses.
The terrain is on paths and grass, it is a mixture of flat and hilly. So please wear sensible shoes (preferably walking shoes). We will be walking at a slow social pace, with lots of stops. We will be walking 7.2miles.
At 5:30pm, we will head back to London, dropping off at Bressenden Place by about 7:30pm (depending on traffic).
