Where did you hear about this group?

I searched for a London-based Java User Group. I'm interested in meeting like-minded Java enthusiasts and hopefully collaborate on some fantastic open source code.

How long have you been developing with Java?

Java was the first programming language I learned. I was taught it at university, it's the language I work with (primarily) at the company I work for. I'm also interested in a lot of JVM languages, particularly Mirah at the moment.

What are your favourite technologies at the moment?

I am a huge fan of the Gradle build tool and use it with as many of my Java projects as possible. I think in most situations ORM libraries can greatly simplify database interaction, with Java at the moment this equates to Hibernate. Although not related to Java I think the Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM) is very useful for prototyping new programming languages.

Would you be interested in hearing about any new Java permanent or contract positions at present? (if yes please add which would be of more interest)

I'm always open to interesting job positions, especially work that would involve: programming language design, language theory and/or parallel processing.

Would you be interested in either guiding/mentoring junior developers, or being mentored yourself in any particular topic? If so we'd love to help! Please expand on which areas you could help, or would like help.

Introduction

I'm a software engineer with a keen interest in web technology and a passion for programming language design, OS architecture and parallel processing. I dabble with a variety of programming languages and open source technology whenever I can.
