Re: [ljc] Call for Greeters for the Developer Sessions event on Tuesday 15th November

Hi,

I am still to attend my first LJC meeting, but I'm happy to be a greeter on Tuesday. I'm not sure I can be there at 6:30pm sharp because of work, I hope that isn't an issue.

Cheers,
Abraham

Hi everyone,

As you know we have the developer sessions on Tuesday.

As usual we are hoping we can ask 3-4 people to help out as a greeter on the evening. It was bought to my attention that there were people that occasionally come along to the events and turn around and leave because it looks a daunting place. We usually have a number of greeters offering a warm friendly approach to avoid people feeling intimidated and leaving or people staying in the corner by themselves all night.

Basically we need you to wear a greeter lanyard and be aware of people coming on their own (and occasionally 'collect' people from the entrance), introduce yourself and try to introduce them to others that you know. It should just help create a warm social atmosphere especially bearing in mind that there are usually a few graduates coming along to the event.

You don't have to dedicate your entire night to doing it, especially if we have 3-4 that are just casually aware of people arriving on their own. Anyone that could help out here would be great - please reply to the list. I would like to be able to send an email in advance with a link to your member profile (so people can identify you).

If you are interested - here is a link to the greeters charter (things to do and not to do): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f9JHg0BUGE0XNaZXt1lFbavdqvi50WeViTZ7cGxEWrk/edit?hl=en&authkey=CJL2xdIP

Thanks in advance,

Anji
