Re: [ljc] There's a very nice surprise in this month's Java Magazine...

The LJC picking up another award, especially a Dukes Choice award, is just fantastic news. I'm exceptionally proud of what we have all achieved here as a community. As John Yeary has said, this is not just based on our technology innovation, but by our "innovative approach to making the community better". From the word go, we have sought to do find new and creative ways to improve the technical community whether through winning the seat on the JCP, finding ways to connect senior developers with students or through the Adopt a JSR or Open JDK programs, the LJC continues to pioneer new ways to bring the entire community closer together, help more developers discover their passion for Java and contribute to the platform as a whole.

As we move toward our 5th birthday, and approach 3000 members I'm looking forward to even more new ways that we can continue to make the community better.

Well done everyone!

Barry

PS Also, whilst I too would recommend subscribing to the magazine, especially as Ben Evans has an article in there, I was able to read it on my iphone without too much hassle.
