Thanks for all the comments and interest guys. I have had at least three times as many personal emails to say that they would be interested in such an event, I think there is definitely sufficient interest to run an event.
@Fox - Thanks for the Contractor UK link, I had a quick look and it does look very interesting and has some great links on there. Do we have many other members of the ContractorUK group within the LJC? If so, have you found it useful? What is the community like? Would you recommend other LJC members join?
I have found great value in creating small communities around highly specific areas, I personally believe value will come from a network specifically for Contract Java London Developers, some of the discussions we have had recently have been around general areas, but others have been around the skill sets important these days for contracting in London... and it leads to other interesting spin offs, like the idea of having an LJC event on getting into contracting. All that being said the Contractor UK site looks to be a very useful resource and I will definitely pass it on to the RCN group too.
