• Gorean Philosophy

    Souk Medina

This meet up has been created for those interested in Gorean philosophy and who wish to be put in touch with like minds who share common interest and search for a sense of community. Gor, also known as the Counter-Earth, came to life in 1967 through a series of 25 fictional books written by John Norman. Gor travels on the same orbit as earth, on the opposite side of the sun. John Norman, aka John Frederick Lange Jr., has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and really makes the reader stop and explore the true nature of themselves To be a Gorean is to live with truth and honour, self-honesty being a core belief of the philosophy. Honour means everything to a Gorean in the same manner it did during the era of the Knights of the Round Table. To most Goreans it is about discovering yourself and being the best you can be at who and what you are. Another aspect of honour is respect. This is exactly what Gor is really about. Gor is about life and experiencing it to the fullest. It is about being true to who you are within. Be yourself and only you. (This meet up and discussion is open to those of 18 years and over only)

  • Remote Rite Calling Down The Moon - Candle Magic Spell

Join us as we all come together for A mystical ancient practice referred to as Drawing Down the Moon. What is remote working and how dose it work? Individuals work alone or in small groups with others from a private location/place of power. Then these covens or solitary witch's all come together at a set time by aligning ourselves with the Moons energy's creating oneness. You will know when this connection/oneness has happened as you will sense it as a feeling of being centred and serene, relaxed yet alert. Sitting at the centre of the rite is a Witchcraft Coven "Circle of The Horned Goddess" We set the ritual structure or intentions of the rite which creates the energetic link between witches opening the vortex of energy which all can tap into allowing distance to be over come for energy has the power to travel both outside and inside the boundaries of space and time. The ritual structure for these events change from month to month and carry the intentions of healing work, setting wishes and positive affirmations for personal issues, friends, pets, endangered animals, places or situations linked at home or around the world. This month we will be calling of the Moon and her energies to aid us and strengthen a candle magic wishing spell. All those who wish to take part will be forwarded ritual guidelines to follow, items needed are listed below. A working candle (white) to represent the Goddess Incense to relax and attune you to the task at hand Flowers or a crystal favoured by the goddess - (this is to give as a gift unto her blessings) A white, silver or dark blue candle this can be a tea-light or small spell candle which ideally we want to burn all the way down A full discription of the rite will be forwarded by email to those who wish to take part. The candle magic spell was taken from a book called "Candle Magic - a witch's guide to spells and rituals" its written by a good friend and very experienced witch Lucya Starza. Its a great read and the perfect introduction to candle magic and ritual. Here's a link to Lucya's book on the publisher's website: http://www.moon-books.net/books/pagan-portals-candle-magic This event is organised By The Circle of The Horned Goddess - (members of The British Witchcraft Society Practitioners of The Old Religions.) www.britishwitchcraftsociety.com

    Hope Pub, 48 West Street,

    • What we'll do This is a monthly Witchcraft development group for those interested in learning not just the history of Witchcraft but also the practical skills and techniques in mind development and Magic. We also offer a initiatory pathway to those who show dedication and commitment this can lead to Coven initiation. Structure: The first half of the gathering will be focused around meditation and breath work training the mind to develop and build, directing energy for us to work with, for example when doing spells, ritual or healing work. From here we will look at a specialised topic of study each month which will often include simple home work exercises so as you can continue your study at home keeping your mind set focused until the next circle gathering. These classes teach a hands on practical way of learning about the traditional skills of Witchcraft. We welcome all levels of experience and aim to cover different topics of study each month, some of the topics we will be looking at but are not limited to are meditation, psychic skill development, circle casting, tool making, working with energy, crystals, divination as well as looking at the background of Wicca and witchcraft and other related topics. These classes started running back at the start of 2016 and proved very successful, we had limited access open to private members only but due to the demand for regular hands on structured witchcraft training we've brought them back for everyone to enjoy regardless of level and experience. Our classes are not just limited to indoor study ether but include outdoor work such as the understanding of tree lore and learning about the wild herbs we can find all around us. • What to bring A note pad, cushion or blanket for meditation if they wish and some light snacks and wine etc to share. • Important to know This event is taking part at a private house so please be respectful and leave any egos at home.
