What we're about
We are a social running group that enjoys interesting trails, singing ribald songs, drinking beer and sharing a meal afterwards. The Hash House Harriers phenomenon began with the 1st group founded in 1938. There are now over 70,000 members in HHH groups on all 7 continents.*
The Long Island Lunatics Hash House Harriers meet once a month (usually) on the Saturday evening nearest the full moon. Our aim is to bring together Long Islanders and New Yorkers who want to socialize and have a bit of exercise at the same time.
Members come in all shapes & sizes, ages and fitness levels. We cater to the young and old, fast and slow, fit and not-so-fit! Trails are about 3 to 5 miles long. The main prerequisites are a sense of humor, willingness to meet new people, open-mindedness, tolerance and a general sense of fun. However, as drinking is involved everyone must be 21 years old to attend. Also, we are sticklers about not driving drunk.
If this sounds like your cup of tea (or harder stuff), come Run with the Mad Cows!
