Carolina Shag Weekend Workshop!

Our weekend workshop this month us a crash course in Carolina Shag! A slowed-down, smoothed out jitterbug, Carolina Shag is dance to rhythm and blues 'beach music'. Originated in the 1930's in North and South Carolina. This dance may look simple, but it offers a complex combo of six and eight count rhythm with rolling steps and stretching connections. Joe Palmer joins us with 20+ years of experience teaching dance. Joe has performed on Broadway and has produced his own stage pieces. With numerous swing dance championships under his belt, he specializes in the smooth, fancy footwork of dances like West Coast Swing and Carolina shag. Learn more about Joe's dance biography: http://www.dancemanhattan.com/instructors/joe_palmer. He is the premier Carolina Shag instructor in the NY area and is ready to bring Shag to LISS!

If you love any of the swing dances, this is a dance that must be added to your toolbox. It teaches balance, partnering techniques and musicality. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn this smooth and stretchy style of swing!

I would love to take this workshop but I had already volunteered to play Santa at a childrens party. Hopefully there will be another one soon.
