In this meeting, Mike will walk us through an introduction to using Lightroom for processing wide field astrophotographs. If you don't have a copy, you can download a free trial version here, and click on the free trial button. It is part of the creative cloud suite of Adobe tools.
This is a hands on session to play along with Mike. Be sure to bring your laptop and some sample photos to work on and your copy of Lightroom.
In future sessions:
Jake volunteered to walk us through some of the important, basic techniques for getting the most out of your DSLR.
David volunteered to walk us through using Back Yard EOS (BYE) for controlling your DSLR.
Eric volunteered to walk us through Stellarium, a free, easy to use planetarium software tool for navigating the sky.
Bob volunteered to show us how to program a Canon point and shoot or EOS camera to automate features like stepping the focus, changing the exposure, multiple, timed exposures using CHDK.
In future meetings we'll keep track of favorite places to go for dark skies and maybe plan a star party for astrophotography.
Eventually, as we all get familiar with the SLACK channel, we might start collecting useful web sites like Cloudy Nights.
See you all there!
