Everyone wants a place where you can find the tools you need and, maybe, a group of people that know how to do interesting stuff and have amazing madskills that you can collaborate with to create new and wonderful things?

Yea... us too.

We want to put together a place like that in Longmont. This would be a place where art, technology, tools, teaching and collaboration come together into a true creative community.

What's often been called a Hackerspace or Makerspace in other cities with similar spaces.

Imagine one place with all the tools you need, or might need to really let loose your innovative side. Tools like work stations with 3D printers, Lasercuters, textile tools like computer driven embroidery machines, recording studio and video editing bay equipment, woodworking tools, soldering stations, electronics and robotic stations, welding equipment, a private cloud system (think: your own personal datacenter) and a classroom full of people all week long learning and teaching subjects ranging from synthetic biology to autonomous drones to arduino robotics programming to good costume design techniques.

Maybe even a class where your kids can learn to program.

If you're interested in helping to create a space like this, come join us and let's see what we can create together.

DEFINITIONS: HACKER: A hacker is a person who enjoys exploring the limits of what is possible, in a spirit of playful cleverness.

HACKERSPACE / MAKERSPACE: It is a community-operated physical space where people with common interests, often in computers, technology, science and/or art, can meet, socialize and/or collaborate. Hackerspaces can be viewed as open community labs incorporating elements of machine shops, workshops and/or studios where hackers can come together to share resources, tools and knowledge to build and make things.
