Get together and write music! Play music! Practice! Create something beautiful.

So, seeing as there are so many of us, I'm thinking we should meet at my place and discuss first, then play some.

I changed the locale from my place of work to my apartment because I thought it would be less stressful for me, as I haven't met anyone yet and we should all get to know what type of music we want to try before every pops by my work, looking expectant ;) Hehe.

At home, it's easier for me to grab my instruments(Gibson ES 335, my mandolin and banjo, and my slide resonator). I do not have a decent keyboard, just a silly home keyboard thing. No drums :(

Ok, so I will leave the original message below, but

a.) it looks like there will be 12 of us or so. I'm sure it will be awkward at first, trying to figure out what we want to do, who's stuff we want to play, whether or not we all fit together.

b.) We can take some time chatting, and maybe forming smaller projects based on our interests?

c.) When all is said, who cares? Let's have fun.

The best bet is to contact me to see if you'd like to try this kind of music. It's not at all genre specific, and I am open to anything, but check out the "about me" profile to see what I'd like to do.

Anyone that is adept at electronic music/sampling, you would be an added bonus (atmospheric/ambient stuff).

Vocalists, yes!

I don't really know exactly what I'm looking for, I just want to create... to start an artist's collective of sorts, to make beautiful, ephemeral music. Any and all are welcome. Just contact me and we'll chat.

So, we operated on a pretty small scale yesterday (2 showed up). Thanks, Martin and Nea! It was a success. Still really interested in having more of you join. Please come by next time!

Really looking for a piano player.

Changed place and time of event.
We'll see how it all goes! Don't be shy. I'm sure it'll be an awkward start, but we'll slowly begin forming something...
We should talk a bit first, then try to lay some songs down, together or as smaller groups.

"I've been creating some sorts of "soundscapes", almost as psychedelic country/folk but not... harmonic riffs and vamps held up by atmospheric slide guitar, mandolin, upright bass (a cello, actually)...I want to move in the direction of a Sigur Ros, Tom Waits, Moondog, Nick Cave (recent albums), Phillip Glass kinda thing. I want to meet any and all musicians... if you play, and want to create something beautiful and undefinable, let me know. I'd really love to find a piano/keyboard player that could lay down some solid roots to what I'm playing and help me move into new directions... would love a sax player or 2, clarinet (bass clarinet! but regular is great, too), violin, someone that can double/triple on any stringed instrument (bass, guitar, mandolin). A sitar would be useful. Any guitar players that write sad, melancholic, exotic shit ;)

Hey everyone. Pretty excited about this...thrilled by the response. How should we do it? All bring our instruments and a song or two and see what happens? Just sit around and chat? Or both?
Any way you slice it, it'll be good, i think ;)

Hello all. There seem to be a lot of guitar players interested. Just message me and let me know what you want to do, and we'll chat :)
