First LA Chef Users Group Meetup: Authoring a Cookbook

I am super excited to kickoff our first Los Angeles Chef Users Group meetup with a presentation from Josiah Kiehl on "Authoring a Cookbook" where he will show us how to properly author a cookbook and iterate quickly thereafter. Josiah is a Software Engineer and at Riot Games and is no stranger to the Chef world, so it should be awesome!

We have also added an additional talk lead by Paul Peissner, from CallobNet, around the struggles of Modern IT teams needing to improve and leverage collaboration, system/process flows, feedback loops and automation when adopting Agile, DevOps, Cloud and CM systems such as Chef.

The first part of the meetup will be open mingling and eating and time to get to know your fellow LA Chef users. We encourage everyone to come along and join us and be part of our inagural meetup!

**No active recruiting at the meetup please**

Thanks to everyone who organized and spoke. This was a lot of fun and it was awesome to meet folks in the local Chef using community.

A couple ideas I'd be interesting in hearing future talks would be

    1. Running Chef Server at scale / Making the decision to use Hosted Chef vs Run your own
    2. Someone who's been playing with erchef
    3. Using Chef for application deployments and how you draw the dividing line between Chef managing server configurations and Chef doing application deployments
