(Near LAS VEGAS), Las Vegas, NV
This is a two-day, small-group private training session, 5 attendees max. (I put 10 RSVPs to enable 5 actual attendees; see below for details.)
This training will be 2 to 5 times more time-effective than the standard 30+ person courses at Front Sight-- which are already great!
Thus, in addition to covering more material up to a slightly higher level than the basic courses, it also will save you one (or more) full days of training, and will save you at least one night at a hotel (unless you have your own free accommodations in Las Vegas).
In this training, we will review rifle basics (for everyone's safety), then move on to intermediate level, up to 100 or even 200 yards, to cover the skills tested for Front Sight's "Distinguished Graduate" award. That award allows a person to enroll in the more advanced courses at Front Sight, including Precision Rifle (1,000 yards), Long Gun Tactical, Tactical Scenarios, etc., and eventually "4-Gun Combat Master".
Attendees will become eligible to take the Front Sight test for your "Distinguished Graduate" certificate on the 2nd day; or on the first day if you have done rifle training at Front Sight before.
Bring your own rifle (any type, from .223/5.56mm up to .338/8mm), or an AR-15 rental package will be available there (there is a cost for that).
The cost for this event itself is $295, to share the cost of this private small-group training.
Additional costs are:
- Background check ($45; no felonies, drug use, etc. Needed only once per calendar year-- i.e. once in 2016, once in 2017, etc.-- for any and all courses you take at Front Sight that year.)
- Ammo (bring your own or buy it there, approx 300 rounds, factory ammo only, no re-loads, and no steel-jacketed or steel-core rounds)
- Gear (shoulder sling required for your rifle; eye & electronic ear protection required-- I can get it for you there if needed, but there is a cost for that; hat with visor required, e.g. baseball or cowboy-type hat; sun protection highly recommended wrists to neck to ankles; knee and elbow pads recommended, etc.)
- Travel expenses. Overnight stay the night before is practically required, and overnight stay the night after is very highly recommended. I will have my own place; the possibility of sharing accommodations among attendees can be discussed later as needed, but regardless, you are responsible for arranging some type of accommodation in Las Vegas for yourself; it is NOT included with this event. Websites I have liked are Vegas.com, Hotels.com, and AirBNB.com; there are others too. Front Sight is about a 1 hour drive mostly west, and slightly south, from the Las Vegas Strip, so it is recommended that you stay somewhere on the south end and/or west side of the Strip.
Some car-pooling may be possible, especially for the drive from Las Vegas out to Front Sight and back that day (1 hour each way).
We'll meet up and talk as a small group to plan exact details beforehand here in Los Angeles.
This event is limited to 5 (five) attendees total.
(I put 10 in the RSVP list because merely RSVP'ing does not guarantee you a space at this event; meeting with me, passing Front Sight's background check, and paying the fees guarantees your space.)
Refunds are not offered for this Meetup.
