KiCad is a free software suite for electronic design automation (EDA). It facilitates the design of schematics for electronic circuits and their conversion to PCB designs.
KiCad features an integrated environment for schematic capture and PCB layout design. Tools exist within the package to create a bill of materials, artwork, Gerber files, and 3D views of the PCB and its components. At this meetup/workshop you will learn the basics of KiCAD. How to install it and will run through a basic tutorial on how to use it to design a common electronic circuit.
We will have images of the software for you to install. If you prefer it, you can download the install files from here: http://kicad-pcb.org/download/
REQUIREMENTS: Bring your own laptop.
By joining this meetup you agree to the Photographs Use Consent (http://www.meetup.com/Los-Angeles-Hackerspace/pages/Photographs_Use_Consent/)

Hackerspace Los Angeles weekly meet up. Come by and mingle with like-minded people and see what others are working on. Find out what planned activities do we have and how you can participate.
If you are interested in helping us establish a permanent location in the San Fernando Valley you need to be here to help us plan this and make it happen.
We’ll still be holding classes/workshops of various interests once a month. I will be posting the schedule later in the week and will be announced in separate meetup for each of the workshops.
