Where did you work/study most recently?

No answer yet

What would you like to get out of this group?

I'm hoping this group will afford opportunities to attend and discuss lectures and events on decision behavior, game theory, networks, and related topics. I'm also interested in learning from and networking with other like minded individuals.

How much prior experience do you have with Machine Learning?

I don't have much experience with machine learning explicitly, but much of the research methods and approaches in machine learning overlap with techniques in my own field of research.

Do you or your group/organization/company use "machine learning" (artificial intelligence, data mining, statistics, clever algorithms, whatever) on a regular basis or to solve interesting problems?

Yes, members of my lab study perceptual learning with noisy stimuli and I study decision behavior under uncertainty. We use statistical techniques for data analysis and develop quantitative models to describe our results.

Are there any topics about which you'd be willing to give a presentation (it's OK if not!)?

I might be able to give a talk on Signal Detection Theory, external noise techniques, and basic statistical analysis.

Coming up to the end of my graduate research where I've studied processes of decision making with uncertainty. Looking forward to meeting, learning, discussing, and perhaps collaborating.

What Carlos is saying about this Meetup Group

Intelligent and inquisitive, friendly and down to earth, and genuinely interested in the subject matter. Seems like a great group.
