LA Monster Makers seeks to bring together horror filmmakers and storytellers of all walks. The goal will be to create networking events, educational opportunities, social events, and casual get-togethers to enhance our careers and to celebrate the genre we all love.
This is an idea I've been toying with for a while and I wanted to see if there was any interest from this group. The goal is to pull together makeup artists, photographers, models/actors, writers, etc, and create a "monster photo shoot." It would give makeup artists and writers a chance to experiment with creature design, models and actors practice and possible exposure, and photographers and videographers shooting experience.
For those who are interested, I'd like to hold a short organizational meeting to work out logistics. I put next Wednesday as a placeholder date, but I'm totally fine with moving that for people who really want to do this but can't make that date. I'll also hold off on location for now until we know where interested parties are coming from.
This is a monthly horror trivia competition held at Blast from the Comics in Burbank. Teams need to have a minimum of 4 players and no more than 6. Due to popularity and high demand, there is also a small registration window a couple of weeks before the event. Registration for the July 25 game is on Monday, July 15 from 11-11:30. I'd like to put together a team and I thought I'd start here to see if anyone was interested.
I set the limit to 6, so only RSVP if you are 100% committed to doing this. If we hit the limit, add yourself to the waitlist and if there's enough interest, maybe a couple of teams will come together out of this.

(Thank you, Aaron, for the suggestion!) If anyone is going to Midsummer Scream in August, feel free to use this page if you want to connect with other people. If enough people are interested, we can schedule a quick happy hour at some point during the weekend.
