Writing and Publishing — Creating A Successful Career as an Indie Author
Sat, Nov 23, 2013, 12-2pm
$25; $5 discount for cash

Everyone has a book or two in them. And now, it’s easier than ever to go from being an aspiring author to a published, successful author.

This intro class is going to cover:

Publishing — everything from covers to conversions
Distribution — Amazon vs. the world
Marketing — on a shoestring budget
Using Social Media — create and expand your fan base
Building Your Brand — non-fiction vs. fiction
Expanding into new territory — audiobooks and apps

The class will be taught at The Green Man by Christiana Miller, the bestselling author of Somebody Tell Aunt Tillie She’s Dead. Christiana has lectured at Columbia College, Northwestern’s NUEA program and the Writers Guild of America on how to succeed as an indie author and publisher in today’s marketplace. She’s been a featured author on Kirkus Reviews’ Bestselling Author’s Writing & Publishing Blog Series and she writes the blog Self-Publishing on a Shoestring for Huffington Post.
