What we're about

The purpose of this meet up group is to talk about books and make friends!
Each month a new book will be assigned for you to read. We will have a monthly meeting which falls on the first Sunday of each month!
You should join if you love to read or talk or both. Also if you hate reading but wanna give it a go, that works too.
At the events we will discuss the assigned book in full detail about our thoughts, concerns or whatever is on the brain. Not to mention we will be drinking coffee or tea during the book club meeting! My favorite combo.
Hope to see you there!

Outwitting the Devil By Napoleon Hill

Online event

Hi friends!

We made it to October!

Per usual, please read the below synopsis. Meeting details and where to grab a copy will be at the bottom of the description.

Napoleon Hill was one of America’s great, influential thinkers who continues to have an enormous impact today.” —Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine

Bestselling author Napoleon Hill reveals the seven principles of good that allow us to triumph over obstacles…and find success.

Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to reveal how fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy prevent us from realizing our personal goals. This long-suppressed parable, once considered too controversial to publish, was written by Hill in 1938 following the publication of his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold coauthor Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Hi friends!

Looking forward to discussing November's novel.

Per usual, please read the below synopsis.

Meeting details and where to grab a copy will be at the bottom of the description.

Chester Malcreef is a simple piano teacher whose life has always been safe and clean. He avoids touching others, eating spoiled food and has impeccable hygiene. Never in his wildest dreams would he imagine being forced into the new reality TV series, Bumscape.

Suddenly he is homeless, waking up in an old, filthy car. He has no money or friends and is forced to survive using only his wits while being filmed at every moment by an unhelpful camera crew. Obsessed by a character who might or might not be who she says she is, he navigates his way through his distorted reality.

Increasingly struggling to distinguish between psychosis and real life, once Chester has someone real to care about, he tries ever harder to get a grip. This takes him across the border to Mexico and an adventure with a masked man, mysterious birds and psychedelic drugs.

“A bold, edgy, accomplished debut!” —Kate Quinn, New York Times bestselling author of The Alice Network

A forgotten history. A secret network of women. A legacy of poison and revenge. Welcome to The Lost Apothecary…

Hidden in the depths of eighteenth-century London, a secret apothecary shop caters to an unusual kind of clientele. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives. But the apothecary’s fate is jeopardized when her newest patron, a precocious twelve-year-old, makes a fatal mistake, sparking a string of consequences that echo through the centuries.

Meanwhile in present-day London, aspiring historian Caroline Parcewell spends her tenth wedding anniversary alone, running from her own demons. When she stumbles upon a clue to the unsolved apothecary murders that haunted London two hundred years ago, her life collides with the apothecary’s in a stunning twist of fate—and not everyone will survive.

With crackling suspense, unforgettable characters and searing insight, The Lost Apothecary is a subversive and intoxicating debut novel of secrets, vengeance and the remarkable ways women can save each other despite the barrier of time.
