Session #1

Sitecore and NightwatchJS: Automation and Integration Tests in Sitecore by Hugo Santos, Coveo

It doesn’t matter if you are developing a new website or creating a Sitecore module. We all know how complex Sitecore can be and testing the integration between all the different components of your project can be painful. Especially if you are trying to do this manually. That’s why I decided to take a few minutes to share with you our journey here at Coveo on using NightwatchJS to help us automating those tests.

Hugo Santos:
With over ten years of experience developing desktop and web applications, Hugo joined Coveo in 2016 to help them evolve even more their products. His first contact with Sitecore was in 2014, working as a back-end developer at SapientRazorfish. Since then, he's been always involved in Sitecore projects building websites for a few big companies and more recently working on the Coveo for Sitecore integration package.

Session #2

Sitecore RULES! Using the Rules Engine beyond personalization

In Sitecore, the “Rules Engine” is often limited in its usage to basic, presentation-level personalization with the out-of-the-box rule sets. As powerful as that is already, the engine, its options and its power are nearly limitless and definitely underutilized. The session intends to shed light on the various ways, beyond simple personalization, that the engine can be used to get closer to the elusive 1-to-1 personalization, create better commerce conversions, leverage omnichannel data, and used by developers to enhance the authoring experience.

He has since been exclusively working on Sitecore projects, having successfully completed a plethora of large-scale enterprise Sitecore implementations through his freelance business. He has taken on the role of “Sitecore-Architect-for-hire” for many Platinum and Gold level Sitecore partners as well as direct clients.
Recently, he acted as the Sitecore Architect, alongside a team at XCentium, for Dine Brands, which operates the IHOP and Applebee’s websites. He also was honored for architecting one of the top 50 websites of the year by Time Magazine while acting as the Director of Web Operations for NBC Universal/Comcast. He takes pleasure in solving difficult issues and requirements in a creative and efficient way, especially when it comes to doing so with Sitecore.
