I recently hosted a Careers in Gaming program featuring a friend of mine who works at Blizzard Entertainment and we had about 30 attendees, 25 of whom were teenage boys. I've been passively interested in the intersection of libraries and hacker/makerspaces for a while as I hosted a presentation by a local robotics club when I was at a branch library last year. In addition, in the past year or so, my boyfriend has gotten pretty involved with a local makerspace for adults and it's really opened my eyes to the possibility for teens. The hunger I saw in the teens' eyes as they asked my friend questions about the gaming industry has made me really want to try and make a Fab Lab like setting happen at Teen'Space.
