Parking and Location

There is limited street parking available in the area, but it can be sparse and tough to get. A parking garage is available next door, underneath the CVS, LA Fitness and other shops for $8. You maybe be able to get a little discount on that parking by buying something in CVS and getting validated.

We know that's a steep price for parking, but the good news is that the venue is also located on the #2 bus line and just a couple of blocks from the Hollywood/Highland metro stop. If you live near the Metro, it would be a cinch to hop on board to the Hollywood/Highland red line stop. Don't forget that MTA also has lots of park and ride lots all over LA, so even if you don't live near a Metro stop, you could drive to a park and ride lot (many offer free parking), then ride to the meetup.

Since it's plugin night, I'd love to hear from people and their experiences with event calendar plugins, I've used All In One Event Calendar on a number of sites, but one by one, I've had to remove them due to being resource hogs. I need to find some kind of middle ground. A good calendar that doesn't eat up resources but as the same time, isn't too simplified and basic.

In case I forget to mention it tonight, check out The Events Calendar from Modern Tribe. There's also a premium version called Events Calendar pro with some more features. I've had great luck with it and it's super-flexible. Allows you to customize it extensively if needed, write your own templates for displaying events, etc.
