We will graft a wide variety of apple scion on M111 root stock in preparation for a community garden orchard installation at the East Main Street Community Garden. Discussion will include grafting scion, planting techniques with regard to soil type and water availability, tree spacing, summer pruning, heirloom apple scion, seeded vs. stone fruit diseases, community gardens, etc.
This event will also be our last chance to trade cuttings, seeds, and animals and so a portion of the meeting time will be dedicated to making these transactions and socializing!
Hope to see you all in the Garden!
Rain date for the following Thursday the 14th.
Hot Tea will be served :)
